Job Details

The Market Security Group is a central analytical team for Willis Towers Watson, undertaking annual financial assessments of some 2,500 insurers worldwide.

Our team of 15 analysts are required to carry out research and financial analysis on these insurers; providing a financial assessment to the Willis Towers Watson’s Security Committee and written factual reports to clients.

A significant amount of effort is dedicated to understanding of the factors and influences (such as economic crises, political events and natural disasters), that have an impact on these insurance companies. Through our analyses, the team gets visibility of insurance markets in diverse territories, allowing WTW to make consistent, informed decisions for clients that may be local or global.

The Role

We are recruiting for a Financial Insurance Analyst, a role that is very research and report writing orientated. We are looking for people with the right skills, at all levels of experience.

The role will require the Financial Analyst to:

  • Collate and interpret research data
  • Conduct detailed and high level analysis, presented both in written reports and also verbally to the Security Committee
  • With the guidance of Senior Analysts, conduct ongoing surveillance of a portfolio of insurers
  • Develop a good insight into the risk profiles of various worldwide territories that Willis Towers Watson operates in.

The Requirements

Essential

  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to quickly absorb, analyse, and act upon information
  • Numerically proficient
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented, with ability to maintain accuracy
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage own workload by handling multiple priorities, whilst complying with deadlines
  • Work well independently and as an integral part of a team
  • IT literate – knowledge of Microsoft office packages needed
  • A strong desire to learn.

Desirable

  • An understanding of financial and accounting basics
  • An understanding of the principles of insurance
  • A second language
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent. 
  • Relevant work experience.
