Our Collections team collect outstanding arrears across Metro Bank products, as we continue to grow unfortunately this means that more customers fall into arrears. But all is not lost, we have a team of Specialists to help!
The specialist team deal with those experiencing financial hardship and potentially quite vulnerable customers, so being empathetic and having the ability to think outside the box is key.

So what would you be doing?...
• Working with customers to understand their income & expenditure, to gain a good understanding of their financial position and ability to repay
• Understanding the customer’s needs and building relationships to be able to negotiate a payment plan
• Liaise with external parties such as outsourced debt recovery companies, trace agents and third party debt management companies
• Action Court Orders efficiently within regulatory timeframes; ensuring compliance and regulations are followed 
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to manage account closures and debt write off 
• Responding to internal and external customers quickly and professionally

We always support colleagues to develop their skills.  But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these wonderful things...

• Ideally you will have worked in a Collections Team at a Lender, or Debt Collection Agency, preferable another retail bank
• Experience of speaking with customers on the telephone in a similar environment 
• Excellent organisational skills
 and the ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines
