Willmott Dixon are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager to join their project services team. The Project Manager will be responsible for the management and delivery of technology projects, and to ensure all projects are delivered to time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards whilst maintaining good stakeholder relationships.

The role will be accountable for maintaining practical processes using best-practice methodologies and systems across all technology functions, ensuring Willmott Dixon achieves maximum value, performance, and realised benefits from the projects delivered. The Project Manager will also be accountable for the ongoing management of internal and external stakeholders and their integration with internal teams to provide consistent and coherent IT services that underpin agreed services levels, targets, compliance/accreditation, and customer requirements.

The Project Manager will ensure that the project teams are operating in line with business needs and in accordance with agreed project milestones or targets. The role will ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with defined procedures, policies and the prevailing IT processes & project management methodologies used to manage and control the end-to-end services.

The Project

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high quality project management & communications resource to all divisions within the Willmott Dixon Group and, where applicable, their third-party clients and third party suppliers.
  • To work with the Project Services team in defining and maintaining an excellent Project Service.
  • Ensure that all project documentation is produced to a high standard and distributed to the agreed plan.
  • Build and maintain good collaborative working-relationships with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all project risks and issues are identified and pro-actively managed through closure or implementing mitigating actions.
  • Organise and manage own workload effectively to meet all project timescales and manager's expectations.
  • Collaborate with other teams in identifying areas for improvement and maintain a good knowledge of emerging best practices in the field of Project Management.
  • Ensure all reports such as the management reports, project portfolio report and resource plans are updated on a regular basis.
  • Drive the adoption of industry standard and common practices, including methodologies such as ITIL, MSP and PRINCE2.
  • Define process for resource planning and ensure that resource requirements are effectively forecast.



Essential and Desirable Criteria

Proven experience of:

  • Delivery of IT projects within a Prince2 and Agile environment.
  • Using Microsoft Suite of Office programmes including Visio, Powerpoint and Project.
  • Project Management, control and reporting.
  • Setting and achieving project milestones.
  • Reading and accurately interpreting technical and project specifications and plans.
  • Possessing a good range of general IT knowledge
  • Direct experience or at least good working knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
  • Efficient and sustainable use of all project resources.
  • Working within a matrix management structure.
  • Working in a fast paced environment, balancing agility with operating practices.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Stakeholder management
  • Proactively liaising with staff in non Technical manner.
  • Building strong internal and external relationships.

Essential

  • Degree qualified in Computing or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Prince 2 Practitioner

Desirable

  • ITIL Foundation
  • MBCS
