Transport for Wales has awarded KeolisAmey a multi-billion-pound contract to run the country’s rail network. This is the biggest ever contract to be awarded in Wales and we will work closely with Transport for Wales to deliver a new era for passengers and for Wales, with more services, newer trains, better stations and a more reliable network.

Due to this recent gain, we are looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to support this project’s initial six-and-a-half-year capital investment programme.

As the Commercial Manager, you will form part of the Managing Agent team on this prestigious contract. This branch of the contract is concerned with the new build engineering works to improve the network. You will be responsible for assisting with the procurement and administration of contractors to carry out the improvement works required. Working with the Principal Commercial Manager you will be involved in the end to end process from bidding and tender evaluation to engaging with the selected contractor and supporting those relationships through to conclusion.

To be successful in this position you must have previous experience in commercial management, ideally within the Rail sector. You should be comfortable in establishing and developing relationships with clients and the supply chain; experience of mobilising a contract and or contractors would be extremely advantageous. Forming a small team with a large business scope you should be able to work well with your Line Manager; supporting where necessary, and in developing your direct report(s), creating a collaborative work environment.
