ActionAid are currently recruiting for a Grant Officer to work within their International Development Policy and Practice team.

ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are ending violence against women and girls and helping change lives, for good. We won’t stop until women and girls are out of danger, out of poverty and on track to create the future they want.

This is a fundamental role within ActionAid UK and the post holder will be responsible for supporting high quality work across the entire programme funding cycle, from identifying funding through to grant management and monitoring and evaluation.

The Grant Officer will work closely with colleagues in the Business Development team to identify opportunities for funding, supporting proposal development and supporting partner and donor relationship management.

They will also support the handover of successful proposals to the Programme Quality and Assurance team and support high quality grant and contract management through effective systems and processes, such as the grant management tracker, grant management guidelines and tools. They will work with Programme Quality and Assurance Specialists on financial and narrative reports, documenting programme learning and play a key role in knowledge management.

We are keen to receive applications from those with demonstrable experience of supporting donor development and or grant management for institutional donors. To be successful within this role, you must have experience of proposal budgeting or financial reporting for institutional and/or trust and foundation donors.

It is also important that applicants have a clear understanding of institutional donors, including trends, priorities and due diligence requirements.

This is a demanding role, with conflicting priorities and deadlines, so it is essential that the post holder is able to manage their time well, that they can priorities their work and that they are able to work well independently and as part of a team.

To be successful, you must have strong written and oral communication skills and you must be able to quickly build a rapport with people across the organisation.
