Job Details

As an Environmental and Social Risk Manager, you will manage aspects of Macquarie’s environmental and social reporting such as the annual environmental, social and governance disclosures. You will be required to monitor reporting standards and best practice including the International Integrated Reporting Council, Global Reporting Initiative and other specific regional requirements to ensure Macquarie continues to disclose environmental, social and governance information consistent with industry good practice.

You will also be responsible for managing aspects of the long term environmental and social risk program, providing expertise to internal working groups and supporting the Environmental and Social Risk team to develop and deliver training.

You will develop and coordinate the internal communications for the Environmental and Social Risk team along with existing activity and engagement on related issues within business groups. There will also be a requirement for you to monitor sector trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

To ensure your success in this highly sought-after position, we ask that you have 5 years’ experience in Environmental and Social Risk in a corporate, consulting or government role as well as a degree in a related field. You should also have a solid understanding and experience in environmental, social and governance reporting, good project management skills, experience in managing stakeholder relationships and the ability to undertake both quantitative and qualitative research work

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
