As part of the expanding portfolio of design contracts within Amey an exciting opportunity now exists for a Commercial Manager to provide commercial support as part of our consulting highways design delivery team where the  successful applicant will provide pivotal commercial support to highways contracts.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial and contractual functions working closely with junior commercial staff, operational colleagues, design leads and senior management. The Commercial Manager will provide commercial support to the contract team, with offsite commercial support being provided by a Principal Commercial Manager. Key elements of the role will include:

  • Contract Administration
  • Commercial Strategy Implementation
  • Applications for Payment
  • Cash Management
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Change Management
  • Risks & Opportunity Management
  • Month End Reporting

This role requires an upfront & proactive approach to the management of change, close liaison with internal colleagues & the need to form strong, open working relationships with clients and colleagues based on trust & integrity. The exciting new role would suit a hands-on individual who is confident in using MS Excel and keen to drill into data and draw logical conclusions from it. A background in quantity surveying would be beneficial, as would any relevant qualification or degree; accreditation by the RICS or a similar professional body would be an additional advantage.

The location of this role can be agreed but will likely be based in Midlands but may involve travel to offices in the North of England.
