Job Details

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to bring your prior experience from a Tax Reporting function (ideally from within financial services) and lead and manage the Indirect Tax Reporting Compliance framework in the EMEA Region.

In this role, you will responsible for tax return process management, technical review of tax calculations, analysis and delivery. You will use your expert knowledge of indirect tax and experience working for large companies/consolidated groups to liaise with businesses and tax advisory teams to understand transactions, including VAT implications of new trades and understanding and implementing external advice where required on trades (including vessel chartering).

You will be accountable for completion of all VAT registrations or Customs/tax warehouses ensuring other reliefs are set up and maintained. You will also take responsibility for the indirect tax accounting process, including the review of tax reconciliations for group indirect tax balances and manage/oversee revenue authority enquiries and audits.

Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing the team to respond to ad-hoc requests from the business on indirect tax compliance matters, and leading the indirect tax compliance changes in relation to Brexit and other process improvement and change management initiatives for EMEA tax reporting, including an ongoing focus on tax technology initiatives including remediation projects for the commodities business. You will support Business Units Leads and Senior stakeholders on regional Tax Reporting issues, and take responsibility for identifying and communicating issues emanating from the regional Tax Reporting function.

To be successful in this role, you will be possess a university degree, coupled with a formal accounting qualification, be commercially minded, with the ability to understand complex structures and transactions and have strong organisation and communication skills, with the ability to manage a range of competing priorities.

You will have team management experience and will ideally have worked in an EMEA/UK tax advisory role, showcasing a high degree of accuracy, and ambition with a high level of energy and commitment and the ability to work well under pressure.
