Job Role: Portfolio Manager – Chartered Accountancy Firm (Full or Part time)

Location: Haslemere, Surrey

Salary: £35-45,000 or pro rata’d

The Organisation:

Our client is a long established, reputable accountancy firm that offers professional accounting and tax advice for individuals and businesses in Haslemere, Surrey.

This role is an excellent opportunity to join a growing accountant's practice, and to experience the benefits of an organisation that can offer long term career prospects.

As there is an established team in place our client can support a full or part time (3.5 days minimum).

Duties:

* Manage a portfolio of clients and create and maintain strong client relationships.

* Highlight Tax Planning opportunities to clients - training to be given.

* Completing financial statements for Personal, Business and Corporate clients. Completing personal and corporate tax returns.

* Liaising directly with clients to assist in resolving relevant general queries.

* Preparation of periodic Management Accounts and VAT returns.

* Support with general practice administration.

* Responsibility for period end and ongoing work to be carried out by a back office using bespoke integrated software in the cloud.

* Work alongside an Office Manager and support staff.

* Report directly to the Group Managing Partner Contribute to the growth and development of the practice, especially through gaining referrals.

Person Specification:

* It is anticipated that the successful candidate with have previous experience in a Practice, however those who have this background and are currently in commerce but seeking a return will also be considered.

* Candidate Profile Qualified Accountant with Managerial experience, individuals who are ‘Qualified by Experience’ with a relevant background will also be considered.

* Ability support a portfolio of clients and build client relationships.

* The ability to provide clients with clear advice and assistance on their accounting issues and as general support to their business.

* Experience of preparation of business accounts and personal and corporate tax returns.

* Recent working experience of VAT, Self-Assessment and Corporate Tax.

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Sage, Xero or similar

* Team orientated Individual happy to work in a small, professional team but as part of a larger organisation
