Research Assistant at the UK’s leading Board Advisory and Executive Search Firm

MWM Consulting is looking for a Research Assistant. This is an opportunity to learn how the largest and most successful companies work at their most senior levels of management at both executive and non-executive level, and to be part of the team advising them on their most valuable asset: its people.

The Company

MWM Consulting is the UK’s leading board advisory and executive search firm, acting for companies such as HSBC, Unilever, GSK, AstraZeneca, BT, Credit Suisse and Dyson. Additionally we conduct Board Reviews and Performance Evaluations as well as undertake Research Projects which try to illuminate and tackle the biggest issues facing boards today. 60% of our work is at Executive level, whilst 30% is for Chairmen and Non-Executive Directors. 

The Role

The successful candidate would be expected to work directly alongside the seven Researchers, two Consultants, and seven Partners, supporting them in their roles around profile writing before client pitches, updates, and presentations, as well as company and candidate research on particular assignments, specifically:

  • Writing candidate profiles and reports based on existing templates to the highest standard
  • Conducting press, database, and interview searches to ensure comprehensive and relevant content is included in the profiles
  • Assisting Researchers to ensure Partners have all the required information for meetings and pitches
  • Providing research support on industry themes
  • Acting as general administrative support to the Researchers, including adding new candidates to the database and updating existing candidates where changes are announced

The Candidate

A flexible, responsible and ‘can-do’ approach. At ease using their initiative, the candidate must be able to plan and organise work to achieve the required result to deadline under minimal direction or instruction. Able to collate and understand new information quickly and effectively, recognising the relative importance and priority of information.

  • Excellent written communication skills 
  • A genuine interest in information integrity
  • A well organised, systematic and clear approach to work
  • Excellent teamwork skills including the ability to adapt to any given situation
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Good computer skills
  • Previous experience in executive search


9.30am – 3pm Monday to Friday
