If the answer is yes, then we would like to hear from you.

We are currently recruiting for Communications Business Partners to join us at the Department for Transport (DfT). As a Communications Business Partner you will develop, deliver and evaluate communications for Ministers and the DfT – as well as shaping communications across Government and Arms-Length Bodies. You will work on communications around our huge programme of transport investment and modernisation, as well as our preparations to leave the EU. These programmes are at the heart of Government and opportunities do not come much bigger than this.

Role Responsibilities include but are not limited to
• Liaising across the Department, and with relevant external audiences, to build and maintain effective relationships
• Delivering and evaluating communications strategies and campaigns, working closely with colleagues across policy, the communications directorate and with a broad range of external partners
• Overseeing the delivery of public announcements and other communications, with effective coordinated working across the policy group, transport stakeholders and DfT Communications Directorate
• Advising policy teams, Ministers and senior officials on all aspects of communications in line with the Department’s policy and business objectives.

About you
You have agility and experience of working across more than one communications discipline, with a deep understanding of evaluating the success of communications. You are also:

• confident with a proven ability to advise and influence stakeholders and build effective relationships
• interested in shaping policy from a communications perspective
• personable and sociable and always keen to work on and learn from new challenges
• positive in a changing environment and keen to understand the bigger picture
• a good leader and presenter with the ability to understand and engage your audience.

Skills and Experience you will also bring to the role

• Experience of working in strategic communications
• Experience of working in a delivery focussed environment
