Looking for a permanent, part-time housekeeping role that allows you to make a significant contribution to the quality of life for vision impaired veterans? At Blind Veterans UK we believe that no one who has served our country should have to battle blindness alone. We offer blind veterans access to the highest quality of services to help them discover life beyond sight loss.

Our busy Housekeeping team provide an invaluable customer focused service to all members, visitors and staff at the Centre. This is a critical role ensuring that the building cleanliness is maintained to extremely high standards and in accordance with Housekeeping best practices and Care standards requirements. The role can be varied and demanding at times, particularly during busy arrival and departure periods.

There are 2 roles currently available:

1 x 24 hrs – Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 8am – 2pm
1 x 20 hrs – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 4pm – 8pm

Responsibilities of the Housekeeping Assistant job, Llandudno, North Wales include:

cleaning tasks within all rooms, public areas, toilets and external areas
undertaking laundry duties and waste disposal
completing paperwork and documentation, checklists and logs, keeping them up to date
We operate 365 days per year so the work patterns for these post include working on bank holidays, when they fall on your usual working days. You will receive enhanced rates of pay for working on weekends and bank holidays. We would also expect a degree of flexibility to cover colleagues as and when necessary.

The ideal candidate for the Housekeeping Assistant job, Llandudno, North Wales will have:

a good work ethic with attention to detail
good communication and organisational skills
an ability to work alone whilst acting on their own initiative
experience of a housekeeping background within a hotel or residential / care facility would be preferable
experience of interacting with elderly people with a visual impairment or disability would be beneficial, although is not essential

These are permanent, part-time jobs paying £8.44 per hour, (plus unsocial hours allowance for weekend working).
