At Bluebird Care we respect and value our staff and that is why many of our Care Assistants having been with us for over 5 years. This is because we know that working as a Care Assistant is such an important role in the local community - it is because of you that the people we support start and end the day with a smile on their face.

Why we stand out:

What makes us stand out is how we support our Care Assistants. We appreciate our Care Assistants and we never forget to acknowledge the amazing work you do in your community.

Our Care Co-ordinators have a 'goody box' of high street shopping vouchers, flowers and boxes of chocolates at the ready to say thank you for all of your work. When the people you support tell us what a wonderful job you are doing we always make sure that this feedback is passed on to you and we send thank you cards when you go the extra mile - and when it is your birthday make sure you pop in the office and there will be a special something waiting for you!

What we do:

The people we support mean a lot to us and the way we support them is by providing a little bit of extra help in the community on a daily basis. This includes companionship, food preparation, help with medication, trips out, helping people start their day and being a friendly face to have a cup of tea with and share stories - just like you would with your own family.

Our focus is on what we can do to make sure someone enjoys each day as much as possible. We recently enjoyed a Community Day where our Customers and Care Assistants all met together, enjoyed sandwiches and cake together and ended up having a sing along to some old 50's classics. It was a lovely day and made us proud of all of our carers & customers.

Here is how we support/reward our Care Assistants:

- Hourly rate weekdays £8.35
- Hourly rate weekends £9.25
- Bank holiday rate £15 p/h
- Mileage 30p reimbursement per mile driven
- Travel time in between visits paid at £8.35 p/h
- Private health benefits (NHS top up scheme)
- Paid uniform, paid training & shadowing
- Guaranteed hours (optional)
- Part time / full time
- 2 Christmas parties! One with our Customers in the office and one with all of our Care Assistants in the local pub (and of course Christmas presents for our Carers)
- Open door policy - we always want you to come in and say hello over a cuppa
- Lots of cake and biscuits in the office

If you are new to care then don't worry. We have a well-designed training and support program in place to make sure you are confident in what you do with lots of support over the phone and out in the community. We have an open-door policy for our Care Assistants and an incredibly supportive management and training team who are always available to help you and listen to your ideas and feedback.

We find that people from Teaching Assistant, Hair Dresser, Nursery Assistant, Charity or Volunteering backgrounds make great carers - so if that's you then please get in touch.

Some of our Care Assistants have been with us from the first day we opened our business. If you would like to join a company that values its staff and changes people's lives every day, then please click the apply button and send us your CV.
