We are now looking to appoint a Health & Safety professional who can partner with our Business and Account Directors & provide a proactive, professional and consultative approach to Health & Safety. 

As a Health & Safety Business Partner you will support the senior levels of our business to formulate effective compliance and improvement plans aligned to Amey’s Health & Safety strategy and those of our customers across our Rail business. You will act as a commercially aware, focused & business minded partner for Health & Safety, collaborating with the leadership teams to help ensure a collective vision that extends beyond health and safety systems and compliance and focuses on our people and their behaviour to help create a positively reinforced learning culture.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for ambassadors and role models for the HSEQ function who will utilise their business acumen, engaging communication and influencing style to promote Health & Safety and provide expert support across our leadership team. Ideally you will be a ‘Chartered’ Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) however, the essential minimum professional requirements should be GradIOSH and working towards being Chartered.  

You will have a proven track record of providing Health & Safety expertise within a safety critical environment, ideally from directly in the rail industry. As a minimum you should have an understanding of the rail industry, and health and safety considerations within it. A PTS qualification would be very advantageous.

The successful applicant will have a bespoke development plan created for them, aimed at maximising their effectiveness in the role which will represent a genuine commitment to achieving a step-change in value-added support to Amey.

Due to our wide spread of rail contracts at Amey the successful applicant must be comfortable travelling to locations as required. A good contractual base is likely to the be the Midlands to support this, but an alternative location can be agreed for the right candidate.
