As the Lead User Experience (UX) Designer, you will lead a small team of UX Designers. As part of your role, you will design and deliver feature improvements to our digital customers. You will be supporting the Head of Design to build the best-in class design function, taking a user centric approach in everything we do. This role sits within our amazing design team, the design team is influential in delivering a great digital platform to our customers.

So what would you be doing?...

• Delivering and developing the user research and usability testing capability

• Translating product requirements into imaginative user focused design concepts

• Championing UX design best practices

• Producing standard UX documentation - user journeys, flows, wireframes and prototypes

• Expressing ideas on how to improve usability by enhancing user interface designs

You need to be this kind of person...

• Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers

• Prepared to stick at something – we get nervous if someone has jumped from job to job

• Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment

We always support colleagues to develop their skills. But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these wonderful things...

• We need you to have an extensive background in product design as a UX Designer

• You will be a strong influencer with previous experience leading a team

• In order to be amazing in this role, you need to have a good understanding of web browser restrictions and mobile device capabilities

• You’ve got to be really comfortable with agile methodologies

• It would be great if you have experience of planning, facilitating and running workshops around UX methodologies and outputs

• You will be comfortable speaking about and evangelising design agendas to colleagues across the Bank

IMPORTANT FOOTNOTE;

Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box.  We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked.  So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Good luck!
