Book Keeper
Polar Black Events is a premier events and production agency producing events for clients including Louis Vuitton, Veuve Clicquot, De Beers, Estee Lauder, Berluti, Moet Hennessy, Rolex, IWC Schaffhausen, Liz Earle, LK Bennett, Guess, J & M Davidson, Barclays Wealth, Permira Private Equity, Towerbrook, and many more.
We have identified an opportunity for a part time book keeper to join the team.
Duties would include:
• Processing transactions into our accounting system, ensuring entries are allocated to specific events where appropriate
• Updating our “tracker” system which monitors profitability by event
• Reconciling bank accounts on a weekly basis
• Working with team members to ensure all costs are supported by invoices
• Supporting client invoicing, tracking payments received and keeping team updated on outstanding payments
• Issuing payment to suppliers and tracking payments
• Managing the commission claim process, including issuing invoices and chasing receipts
• Helping the team close event budgets quickly
• Liaising with accountants to clear any queries
• Ensuring all records are ready for quarterly reporting and tax submission
• Reviewing current bookkeeping processes and showing initiative in recommending and implementing best practice
• Liaise with accountants on monthly payroll and ensure salaries are paid when required
Candidate profile:
• Minimum two years book keeping experience
• Excellent organisational skills
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated and outgoing
• Clear communication and excellent presentation skills
• A good team player
• Commercially aware
• Positive and adaptable approach to problem solving
• Proficient use of Excel
• Experience using Xero an advantage
• Aptitude to maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion is paramount
Package:
Determined based on experience This is a part-time role offering flexibility and remote working as required with approx. 4 days per week
