As a Business Designer for Insurance Finance, you will work closely with other Finance Business Designers, the Business Design Lead for Finance and the Finance Value Stream (FVS) Product Owners. You will facilitate the definition of the future target end state for the FVS and the roadmap to deliver it, with specific focus on Insurance. You will be responsible for ensuring that the end to end design is consistent with the wider Finance and bank's designs and work with the other Business Designers for Finance and cross functional transformation team to drive these designs. You will help define the future state of Insurance Finance; lead shaping activity, and be responsible for translating the vision into an actionable business case and delivery plan, making clear the choices and implications on the customer journey key indicators. Additionally, working closely with the product owners, and across Finance and Divisions to agree designs, and will also liaise with the delivery teams to support rapid resolution of delivery issues to ensure value realisation in line with the business case, and inspire change within the business to ensure the sustainability of the programme's impact.

Your remit will include:

  • Provide executive insight: expert knowledge of Insurance (specifically Financial Planning & Retirement), and its interrelated constituent parts, industry context and business strategy to inform business design challenges.
  • Develop models and maintain the target and transition state operating models for Insurance Finance: Develop and use standardised Business Architecture methods, tools and techniques to ensure holistic understanding of whole change portfolio both within and between business divisions. Enable Enterprise wide management of complex change whilst identifying synergies to reduce cost and complexity and ensuring effective common business solutions across the Group.
  • Shape and align Value Stream / Change programmes: Work with senior stakeholders, Value Streams and CIO to build common understanding of impacts of commercial decisions and the change portfolio on the current and Target Operating Model (TOM). Recommend optimal delivery roadmap to maintain operational stability whilst delivering multiple major change initiatives to deliver business strategy. Build, develop and deploy a Business Architecture capability into a business function/division and/or large Programme portfolio.
  • Govern business design and solve design issues and challenges: Implement effective business design governance frameworks within Insurance Finance and define, develop and govern Target Operating Models, business design principles and Group-wide Business Architecture artefacts. Ensure design issues and complex design challenges both within and across divisional boundaries are effectively impact assessed and resolved. This includes well defined overall roadmap and business case; clear scope definition and solution design; resolution of scope boundary issues; resolution of key design issues; management of scope and solution inter-dependencies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proactively build and maintain external and internal networks to identify best practice and to build the profile of the Business Architecture community. Raises the profile of change delivery across Insurance Finance by identifying opportunities to share and gain expertise.
  • People & Self Development: Contribute to building capability across Finance and the FVS; could provide leadership to a team of technical experts, motivating, developing and inspiring Colleagues and constantly improving capability.

You will also act as an advocate of new ways of working and coach lab members and will assist with training people, leading performance and driving career development opportunities for lab colleagues. Role modelling Lloyds Banking Group values and behaviours and encourage this across Business Design community teams.

Ideally, with a strong experience in Financial Planning & Retirement, providing strategic design leadership within a large corporate environment. Experience across a range of design-related disciplines including business analysis, business architecture, systems thinking and service design; most importantly you will demonstrate logical, well-structured thought processes, and the ability to apply a variety of meaningful insights to drive transformational change. You will also be able to evidence your subject matter expertise in data architecture, design and delivery considerations. We are looking for "T-shaped" individuals who combine understanding across the domain with depth of expertise in one or more specialist areas.
