Our client is one of the foremost family law barristers’ chambers in London which boasts strength across the full range of children law issues and has particular expertise in modern family law cases such as those concerning LGBT parenting, surrogacy and fertility. Its barristers are specialists in all traditional children matters spanning public and private law concerns, regularly appearing in the High Court and Court of Appeal. The set further has a solid matrimonial finance offering and has won admiration for its recent move to new Lincoln's Inn Fields premises boasting state-of-the-art facilities.

They have 81 members and 12 QCs and currently seek a full-time receptionist to complement their team of support staff.

Induction and training available by part-time Senior Receptionist.

Accountable to Chambers Director.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9am-6pm.

Up to once a week (during exceptionally busy times) hours of work may need to accommodate evening events: 11am-8pm.

Duties

* Meeting and greeting clients/visitors in Reception area.

* Operating a busy switchboard, transferring calls and relaying messages.

* Using Chambers diary system and making the daily allocation of conference rooms.

* Assisting barristers and visitors with general enquiries.

* Ensuring that visitors sign in and out of Chambers.

* Keeping an up-to-date record of all deliveries into Chambers.

* Receiving and sorting mail and deliveries.

* Keeping the Reception area and conference rooms in good order, tidy and clear available for use as required.

* Setting up (and clearing when necessary) conference rooms for meetings.

* Arranging occasional in-house breakfast, tea and lunches.

* Assisting with administrative overflow and marketing database update.

* Assisting with in-house seminars/events as required.

Skills

* Excellent telephone manners and a clear speaking voice.

* Excellent command of written and spoken English.

* Experience – minimum 2 years - with front of house/reception gained in legal, professional services or similarly demanding environment.

* Excellent interpersonal skills, helpful and efficient approach.

* Ability to work as a team-member and willingness to help clients, members of chambers and colleagues.

* Knowledge of Word, Excel & Outlook.

* Familiarity with the MLC diary system desirable
