Special Needs Lunch Time Support Worker - Lambeth

* Based in Southwark
* Part-time hours (12.5 per week)
* Hourly pay (£9.00-10.00 ph)
Empowering Learning are looking for Lunchtime Support Workers to work in our SEND School in Lambeth, South London. We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive Lunchtime Support Workers who hold a healthcare background and have experience with supporting young people with a range of Special Educational Needs. You will be responsible for supporting young people with feeding, assisting with personal care – supporting individuals with toileting and changing, supervising their behaviour and assisting with personal care. We are looking for experienced individuals who are willing to commit to 10-12.5 hours per week and can provide consistency to build a strong rapport with students. Experience is desirable, but not essential, however our Schools look for individuals who have a fantastic working ethic and has passion and willingness to develop new skills and take on additional training. Our Schools support children and young adults with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities such as Autism, PMLD, Complex needs, SLD and MLD.
Job requirements:
* Experience supporting young adults with a range of SEND needs – desirable not essential
* Willingness and comfortable assisting with personal care
* Confident working with challenging behaviour
* Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and pupils
* Compassion, patience and confidence
* A valid DBS registered on the update service
* Available 3-5 days a week and able to commit to at least 1-12 months
* Must be able to provide two professional references
Job responsibilities:
* Support students over the lunchtime period – feeding and changing
* Assisting with personal care
* Manual Handling
* Managing behaviour
* Coordinating activities
