About the role

Sense have an exciting opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join us as we establish our new Supporting People project in Powys as a communication facilitator. These roles are based in either North Powys, covering the Montgomeryshire area, or South Powys covering the Breconshire/Radnorshire area. This is a part time role, working 16 hours per week on a fixed term basis until April 2024.

In this role you will provide community support to people living with sensory loss, enabling them to live the life they want, reduce social isolation and ensure the risk of homelessness is minimised. You will support individuals to complete day to day tasks such as administration and correspondence and also enable them to access local activities and social groups.

About you 

We’re looking for people who have experience providing support to people with sensory impairment. We’re interested in people with a range of communication skills; we’d love to hear from you if you can communicate in clear spoken English and have any experience with British Sign Language or Welsh.

As the role is community based, the individual will need to travel across the Powys area and transport individuals when needed.
