Location: Linby, Nottinghamshire (NG15)

Salary: £16,816 -£19,088pa pro rata

Hours: 20hrs Part Time

Closing Date: Wednesday 03 April 2019

Our client operates a Residential Care home situated in the lovely village of Linby (NG15); a few miles north of Nottingham.

This beautifully refurbished property provides a home for nineteen residents and is a scenic and peaceful place to work. It is considered to be a ‘home away from home’ for the residents and the 25 colleagues that work there.

About the role

The Activities Coordinator will report directly to the Care Home Manager and will engage with the 19 residents to find out their interests and facilitate a varied and enjoyable programme of therapeutic, cultural and social activities. These may include organising in-house and other events such as Days Out, board games, bingo, crafts, poetry reading, Bollywood entertainment and anything else the residents want to do.

To keep the residents engaged at all times, you will ensure daily activities are in place and create an activity plan which is varied but based on choice, exciting and dynamic and actively encourage residents to partake in these activities.

You will be required to work with your colleagues to continually improve activity provision, as well as provide coaching and support to them to enhance their skills and confidence in the delivery of the activities.

This is a part-time role that includes working shifts. Shift patterns will typically be in the afternoons; Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend and evening working depending on the planned activities. You will receive double time for Christmas and New Year shifts.

About you

As Activities Coordinator in a Residential Care Home you will be caring, hardworking and have a passion for working with older adults within a care setting. Although the project is considered a ‘home away from home’ you must act in a professional manner at all times and respect the dignity and individuality of each resident and colleague.

You will have good communication and organisational skills to plan, organise and deliver the activities. In addition, you will be a team player but also be able to work on your own initiative.

You will be numerate and literate with basic IT skills to be able to research and prepare materials for your activities.

Most of all, you will have a can-do attitude and take real pride in your work
