This particular role is to support learners within the classroom environment who are identified as having mild to moderate special educational needs and/or disabilities. Your role will to be to ensure that they benefit from the individualised support devised when accessing learning. The successful candidates will have a proven track record in working as a support assistant in a SEND educational environment, and preferably has previous experience working with the post 16 age group. As this role is on a part-time basis the salary will be pro-rota
This vacancy is working 3 days a week - days will be discussed at interview.
Essential Attributes:
* Previous experience in working with groups of children
* A minimum of GCSE C grade or level 4 in Maths and English
* Ability to work in stressful situations
* Responsible, sympathetic and patient manner
* Be able to encourage and motivate your learning cohort to attain high levels of achievement
Desirable Attributes:
* Previous experience in working with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties
* Previous experience in delivering training and/or support to the 14-19 age group
* Information, Advice and Guidance Qualification
* Experience in the field of Autism and/or Special Educational Needs (SEN)
