Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Principal Commercial Manager to support our CEFA contract based out of our Motherwell office. We are proud to be named Network Rail's sole supplier for the Civil Examinations Framework Agreement; for which our team inspects structures and assets throughout the UK, including the iconic Forth Bridge in Scotland. You will support the Scotland region as a senior member of the team as well as the wider CEFA teams and rail business at Amey, with occasional travel required.
As Principal Commercial Manager you will oversee a workbook worth £10million annually, implementing commercial best practice and ensuring that value to the business is maximised, whilst the risks and costs are minimised. You will be responsible for producing regular CVRs and cross business reports, as well as coordinating the commercial team. The Principal Commercial Manager will liaise directly with the client, and work closely with operational route Managers; additionally attendance will be required at some senior meetings both within the business and externally in place of the Head of Commercial. Whilst functioning as part of a larger contract you will manage a small team of 3 direct reports, and will be responsible for their growth and development within Amey.
What are we looking for?
This role would suit an experienced senior commercial manager with strong commercial acumen and solid contractual knowledge. Due to the heavy emphasis on reporting and data it is essential that you have an excellent knowledge and experience of using MS Excel. You must be confident liaising directly with your client, with the ability to form meaningful business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as efficiently managing your own team. This senior role requires an autonomous individual who is comfortable making decisions and being self-reliant. A relevant qualification or RICS accreditation would be advantageous, as would any previous experience within the rail industry.
