Internship and Employer Engagement Manager  

London - QA Higher Education

Do you have a recruitment OR student placement OR business development background? Would you like to make a difference and help our undergraduate and postgraduate students gain industry experience through our internship programme?  

About the role: As Internship and Employer Engagement Manager, you will have the networking skills to develop new and existing relationships with employers and businesses to enhance our student experience by promoting QAHE and its students; you will attract meaningful employer activity on campus and also support students to obtain internships. Working with our Head of Careers, you will develop an employer engagement strategy; responsible for all aspects of employer engagement and for managing the Internship and Placement Service that supports students who undertake internships as part of their studies and also those wishing to boost their employability and gain industry-related work experience. Our role will involve attending events, client meetings, calling potential employers alongside working with the academic faculty  

Day to day:  

Develop and strengthen links with existing and new employers to attract their participation with activities on campus such as talks and workshops and to act as internship hosts in order to increase the number of opportunities available

Undertake research, market analysis and networking opportunities to identify and target potential employers to participate with

Match suitable students for particular internships by shortlisting CVs, preparing students for interviews, making offers and ensuring university regulations are met where necessary (the post holder will work in conjunction with the central Careers Services to provide employability activity)

Work with the campus Employability Officer to oversee all administrative and student-facing activity of the Internship and Placement Service

Represent the Internship and Placement Service at institution validations, academic meetings and ensure and monitor the quality of internship programmes with reference to QAA, ASET and other relevant codes of practice and apply best practice across internship programmes;

Work closely with faculty to ensure internships meet any academic requirements

Bring your experience:

As this role involves considerable lead generation and client management, the successful candidate will have excellent networking and relationship building skills, ideally with experience within higher education and/or recruitment; ideally candidates will have experience in working with businesses and/or students across a range of industries and programme disciplines, from computing/IT to luxury brands.
