Langdon UK have an exciting opportunity for an Activities Coordinator to join their growing team in Prestwich, Manchester.

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Location: Prestwich, Manchester

Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 per annum, pro rata

Job Type: Permanent, Part time

Hours: You will be expected to work 25-30 hours per week and may be required to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays according to the activities schedule

Langdon was founded 25 years ago, and our services have steadily grown and we now help over 100 young Jewish people, providing education, supported living and employment services. We are proud that our members lead independent lives that, without Langdon, they could only dream about.

Activities Coordinator – The Role:

We are currently looking for an Activities Co-ordinator to join our team. The post holder needs to be very organised with good communication and interpersonal skills. The role will be based in Prestwich, however travel may be required between local properties and event locations.

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing a successful activities program, which will stimulate new interests and skills and meet the member’s individual needs. This includes internal and external communication about activities.

Activities Coordinator – Responsibilities:

- To regularly gain feedback from residents, their families and the staff team to ensure that the activities offered are relevant and meet the residents' needs and choices.

- To plan & promote social events by surveying members’ interests.

- To keep members informed of activities and events both inside and outside of Langdon by telling them about the availability of leisure programs and recreational activities; preparing and distributing a monthly schedule of activities, their locations and associated costs.

- To have input into the transition of new members.

- To plan and implement social programs which increase social integration, provide educational opportunities and entertain.

- To organise and participate in key Langdon events held throughout the year such as the Langdon football tournament and annual BBQ.

- To plan, arrange and coordinate inclusive annual holidays for members.

- To work in partnership with Langdon members to ensure a person centred approach to service provision.

Activities Coordinator – You:

- Previous Experience organising activities for people with learning disabilities, mental health issues or physical disabilities.

- An understanding of and sensitivity towards the Jewish culture and religion, with a very good knowledge of cultural practice and festivals.

- Previous experience producing monthly activity schedules.

- Excellent organisation skills.

- Good communication skills both oral and written.

- Good interpersonal skills.

- The ability to work with a wide range of people on all levels and responsibilities.

- Good time management skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

- An understanding of the role of this Sector and its work with minority groups and be sensitive towards the Jewish culture and religion.

- The ability to drive a minibus.

- Educated to GCSE Level including Maths and English or equivalent.
