Clinical Nurse  Hindlip, Worcestershire  Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2020 Full Time is preferred, but we will review applications on a part time basis.  The closing date for this post is 12 noon on Friday 26th April   The main purpose of the role is to deliver specific Occupational Health services in relation to health screening and health promotion, ensure compliance with statutory requirements relating to Occupational Health. Main Responsibilities: To coordinate and support the Occupational Health Technicians in the assessment of medical questionnaires for new starters. To conduct one to one health assessments in more complex cases to determine suitability for appointment. To provide written and verbal reports to HR Officers/ Business Partners and support to managers in addressing the associated outcomes (e.g. advice on workplace adjustments). To provide clinical leadership and direct the Occupational Health Technicians on all matters relating to periodic health surveillance programmes (e.g. AFO, ATO and DVI assessments). To conduct audiometry, spirometry and drugs tests and advise on vaccinations etc. where appropriate. To lead and link in with internal and external stakeholders to deliver health and wellbeing initiatives (e.g. healthy lifestyle checks, to include BMI, cholesterol, B/P, diet, alcohol) and promote healthy lifestyle choices.   Identify and appraise the Occupational Health Manager of developing poor health trends and to promote health at work through the delivery of health campaigns Develop and maintain the Occupational Health intranet site in liaison with other stakeholders. To record and maintain accurate data on appropriate databases. To recognise symptoms of workplace injury and ill health, and seek to identify their causes and inform the Occupational Health Manager accordingly. To refer individuals to appropriate support or advice as appropriate. To support the OH Advisers and provide advice to individuals as part of on-going case management. To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required. Experience/Skills:   Knowledge: Registered General Nurse Sound knowledge of the Equality Act, Medical Reports Act, Data Protection Act and Health and Safety at Work Act, confidentiality and its application in a workplace setting. Experience: Post qualification experience in a clinical setting e.g. health assessments, GP setting etc. Experience of providing clinical services within a complex,  multi-site organisation. Key Skills: The proven ability to practically apply clinical knowledge and experience in order to effectively deal with complex health conditions in a workplace setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to deal with sensitive issues Ability to analyse information and identify workplace trends supporting the Occupational Health Manager prepare management reports. Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Officer Special Conditions  Travel within Warwickshire and West Mercia force areas We want our organisation to be as diverse as the community it serves.
