Our client is a leading provider of mental health services in Birmingham and the West Midlands.

They are looking for experienced and enthusiastic people to work in a supportive coaching capacity as key workers within our Support Service. The service is broken down into four area teams. As a Support Worker/Coach, you will be leading on the delivery of support for those experiencing mental health difficulties. The organisation has designed the support to be local, responsive and collaborative with a mixture of one to one support and group support.

You will be engaging with service users either in their own homes or in their local community to ensure that the support offered enables them to continue to enjoy stability in their accommodation.

All service users have aspirations and wishes and it will be your role to ensure that you support people to achieve these. This is not something the service expects you to do alone. You will be working in a holistic way and ensuring that local organisations are a strong part of the delivery model.

Whether you are working one to one or with a group of service users your focus will be on recovery and your day is likely to be a mixture of working in this way, but also making sure that we retain close and effective links with local organisations and the local community.

You will also work alongside service users who have made the step into volunteering and Peer Mentoring and therefore you will be utilising their experience and motivation to create a service which both respects service users and encourages participation.

You will have experience in the mental health field, with experience of supporting people to be in control of their lives. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to work with strong values and work within a recovery approach.

Benefits include an attractive defined contribution pension scheme, Paycare which offers employees affordable cover for a range of healthcare treatments, an Employee Assistance Programme which includes free counselling and a comprehensive training programme.

People are key to the success of this organisation and they are recognised as both a Mindful Employer as well as achieving Gold standard success in Investors in People. They welcome applications from people who have experienced mental health difficulties
