We are looking for a friendly Young People’s Practitioner to work with young people who have been affected by substance misuse issues.
Job description for Young People’s Practitioner
* We are looking for an experienced professional to support young people under the age of 19 affected by substance misuse issues.
* You will provide advice and informal education to young people in Norfolk, raising awareness of the risks of drugs and alcohol through informal outreach and targeted work.
* You will provide one to one sessions for young people, group work, drop-ins and awareness-raising sessions at various events and venues.
* Collect relevant data and complete all necessary paperwork associated with the service including referral and assessment forms, data and any other administrational paperwork.
Requirements for the Young People’s Practitioner
* Experience of working directly with young people
* A relevant qualification or experience and a willingness to train
* Understanding of the issues facing young people in relation to drug and alcohol use
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent time management and the ability to plan workload
* Must hold a UK driving licence and have access to a motor vehicle
* Self-motivated, able to work under pressure, and able to use own initiative
