An exciting technology company specialising in artificial intelligence are are at a very exciting stage of their company journey, looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join their team situated in the Ancoats area of Manchester, working 2 - 3 days or equivilent per week.
Currently all financial administration is being outsourced but the company have now grown sufficiently to bring this in-house.
As Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper you will be supporting our Group operations, on a part-time basis, working 15 - 30 hours per week. Reporting to the Operations Manager and regularly interacting with the CEO and COO and be responsible for maintaining financial records and developing systems to account for financial transactions.
Key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant/Bookeeeper;
* Maintaining accurate records; reconciling, allocating and posting transactions
* Checking company bank accounts and reconciling transactions
* Updating weekly Cash Ledger position
* Liaising with suppliers and processing and paying invoices
* Appropriately coding payables to enable accurate financial reporting
* Processing and paying expense claims
* Processing payroll once prepared by accountants
* Preparing purchase orders
* Issuing client sales invoices
* Monitor credit control and report on any issues
* Controlling inter-company transactions
* Working with accountants to create and run regular financial reports
Knowledge and skills required for Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper;
* ICB/AAT qualified (minimum 2 years)
* Demonstrable experience in a similar accounts role
* Previous experience and proficiency in Sage or Xero a must
* Able to produce clear financial reports using such accounting software
* High level of numeracy and excellent attention to detail
* Proficient in Excel
* Have a general understanding of compliance regulations relating to financial activities
* Able to comply with regulations in relation to the company’s financial activities
* Able to work unsupervised where required
* Occasional travel to our London office
