Senior Radiographer (CT / MRI Scanning)
Position: Senior Radiographer CT and MRI Scanning
Location: The Meriden Advanced Imaging Centre in Coventry
Job type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £23K pro rata (£39K FTE)
About the role:
A rare opportunity has arisen for a Senior Radiographer at The Meriden Advanced Imaging Centre in Coventry.
The Senior Radiographer will provide a safe, efficient and professional radiographic service, maintaining a high standard of individualised patient care. They will participate in service activity within CT and MRI modalities .To maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to patients. To develop and improve professional expertise via Continual Professional Development (CPD) and be involved in staff education.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake specialised radiographic procedures in CT and MRI modalities to maintain the required standards in accordance with established regulations, protocols and procedures
- Support in the organisation of the day to day management of activities within the department
- Assess and implement techniques to ensure optimum quality image is delivered at all times, seeking advice and support from senior management as required
- Demonstrate ability to utilise the Imaging related equipment and accessories correctly, reporting any faults
- Conversant with the IT systems and ensure that accurate records are entered and maintained
- Participate in Governance programs including regular auditing and quality control
- Provide high standard of clinical service to the patient whilst adapting the procedure as applicable to the specific needs of the patient
- Participate in IV injections
- Work in accordance with the “Code of Practice for the use of Ionising Radiation” and IR(M)ER regulations
- Document, and report any adverse incident or near misses on the incident reporting system (Datix)
- Support administrative team with patient bookings, vetting and administrative duties when required
- Communicate in a professional manner, safely, effectively and empathetically with patients and their carers prior to, during and after an examination
- Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues and Consultants Radiologists to ensure the smooth running of the service
- Keep accurate documentation and patient records in line with TMAIC protocols and in line with GDPR regulations
- Ensure all examinations and associated narrative/notes have been entered onto the local IT systems
About the candidate:
- Diploma of the College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography with a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience
- Current State Registration with HCPC
- Clinical Experience and technical knowledge of CT and MRI scanning techniques
- Ability to administer IV contrast media
- Evidence of CPD
- Computer literate
- Exemplary professional approach and patient skills; particularly with claustrophobic patients
- Excellent communication skills and use of English language
- Ability to work under pressure
Desirable:
- Cardiac CT and MRI knowledge
- CT Interventional experience
- Experience in Private Healthcare
-Recognised IV Cannulation and administration course
-ILS trained
