Job Description

* To operate and maintain an In-Custody database.

* To operate secure transfers of information and reports between the group and Her Majesty’s Prisons and Probation Service (HMPPS).

* To treat data in complete confidence and in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

* To produce reports relating to the contract activity and performance by area and overall contract.

* To collate data as required to support quality and compliance checks.

* To assist in collating outcomes from customer feedback procedures.

* Report performance data on a weekly/monthly basis as required.

* Report, track and resolve database errors/ faults.

* To provide a telephone and email response service for system users across the prisons to resolve any issues.

* To produce information, instructions and training guides on the data base operating procedures.

* Attend training and liaise with staff at all levels.

* Other duties commensurate with the level and nature of the post.

Personal Specification

* Must have experience of operating databases.

* Excellent working knowledge of Excel.

* Able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

* Analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to use other office ICT software competently.

* Good communication skills- written, face to face and telephone /email.

* Able to give clear instructions to other users.

* Good attention to detail as role involves checking data.

* Demonstration of good personal and project organisational skills.

* Able to work on own and as part of a team.

* Capable of working under pressure.

* Flexible and adaptable with the ability to travel to team meetings and other work locations.

* An understanding of data protection and IT security policy.

* Preferably qualified to minimum level 3 e.g. Business Administration / ICT or relevant qualification.

* Understanding of key performance indicators and management outcomes desirable.
