Kennet Care is an organisation that works with children and young people in a residential care setting. We are currently looking for Residential Carers and Waking night Carers to join an existing experienced team. An ideal candidate must be someone who genuinely enjoys working with young people and shows commitment to helping shape the lives of young people in a positive direction.

The role involves:

  • Working with up to 4 teenagers with Emotional and Behavioural difficulties
  • Responsible for day to day care of the young people

Person Attributes required:

  • To work with integrity and honesty
  • To maintain and keep appropriate boundaries with the young people and colleagues
  • To show tolerance, compassion, warmth and empathy towards the young people
  • To provide a caring and supportive environment for children and young people that respects and affirms their racial, cultural and religious identities and lifestyles
  • To ensure the rights and needs of children and young people are met as fully as possible this can extend to spiritual, intellectual cultural or social.

Responsibilities:

  • Care planning and other statutory administrative duties
  • To be aware of the children’s and young people’s leisure and recreational needs and preferences within organisational policies and guidelines.
  • To communicate all concerns to the registered manager with regards to the children and young peoples physical, psychological or emotional needs.
  • To be accountable for budgets allocated for specific purposes including distribution and recording whilst on shift.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be able to work shifts including alternate weekends
  • All staff working in a residential setting must possess NVQ3/QCF level 3 qualification or be willing to work towards the Children's workforce development pathway. Full training is provided.
  • Ability to drive is necessary

Part-time and weekend positions are also available.
