Holidays & Short Breaks Coordinator
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Location: London or Birmingham
Contract type: Fixed Term
Salary: Circa £25,00 pro rata (Plus London allowance if appropriate)
About the role
In this role you’ll be a key part of our flagship Sense Holidays programme, creating opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy a week-long break away from home, to try new things, do things they enjoy, and meet others in a safe supportive environment.
Each year, Sense supports up to 150 disabled people of all ages on our programme of holidays and residential short breaks. These are delivered throughout the year across England and Wales, through an extensive network of committed volunteers and sessional staff.
About you
To deliver the programme, you’ll need a passion for working with disabled people and their families. You will be skilled in building and nurturing relationships across diverse groups of staff, external partners, volunteers, families and individuals. You’ll relish the opportunity to lead on a complex and high profile national project and to work collaboratively in a positive, highly supportive team.
We particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience of working with people who are deafblind, multisensory impaired, who have autism, or who have other complex communication needs.
As volunteers are an essential element of how we deliver fantastic outcomes for everyone who takes part in our activities, an enthusiasm and commitment to the unique benefits that volunteers bring is a must.
About us
Our holidays make a real difference to people’s lives, whether it is a small achievement, a new connection or a life changing moment. Your commitment to ensuring every individual involved receives the care and support they need to have a fantastic break away - and one which clearly meets their choices and aspirations - will be crucial to the success of the programme as a whole.
For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world.
We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.
