Project Manager - Life Cycle Management / Experience of bidding and delivering projects/contracts.

A Project Manager with Life Cycle Management / Experience of bidding and delivering projects/contracts experience is required to work on a twelve month contract (WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION) for our Defence client based in Cumbria

This is a 12-month contract with one of the UKs leading defence companies.

Key skills / Experience required for the Project Manager

Key skills / Experience:

* Develops, agrees and maintains the project baseline: work breakdown structure (WBS), organisational breakdown structure (OBS), risk and opportunity register, project resource and management plans.

* Resolves deliverable programme management issues during the capture/bid phase, working closely with the functional leads to ensure alignment

* Ensures the project can be executed and that forecasted margin can be attained

* Provide leadership and management for the assigned project/programme.

* Responsibility for project/programme delivery.

* Financially plan and achieve acceptable business financial objectives for orders, sales, gross margin and cash.

* Monitor and report project/programme performance for schedule, technical, financial and quality objectives and forecast project outturn.

* Establish and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships maintaining regular communications and managing expectations.

* Take responsibility for achieving customer satisfaction.

* Proactively manage emerging risks and opportunities to the benefit of the project/programme.

* Tailoring of procedures and guidelines for operation of the project/programme, ensuring adherence to the Operational Framework and Life Cycle Management (LCM) mandates.

* Liaison with key functional stakeholders with accountability for project success. Development of appropriate functional project objective/requirements.

Experience:

* Track record for bidding and delivering defence projects/contracts for UK and export customers

* Proven Project/Programme Management experience (budgets, cost, schedule management, risk, mitigation

* Management of projects through an independent gate review process or BAE Systems LCM process.

* Strong stakeholder management experience

* Proven leadership/training and development of teams

* Excellent interpersonal skills with experience of building high level customer relationships

* Knowledge of international programmes where offset/industrial participation is required

* MS Office Proficient
