We’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Service team in Liverpool.

Stroke Association. Rebuilding lives after stroke.

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down and so does a part of you. That’s because a stroke happens in the brain, the control centre for who we are and what we can do. It happens every five minutes in the UK and changes lives instantly. Recovery is tough, but with the right specialist support and a ton of courage and determination, the brain can adapt.

We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke and it’s a team effort to get there.

We provide specialist support, fund critical research and campaign to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives.

Position: Stroke Association Support Coordinator

Location: Liverpool (office based)

Hours: 28 hours per week

Salary: circa £18,400 per annum

Contract: Permanent (our services are contracted; we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2020)

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke.

Reporting to the stroke support manager, the stroke support coordinator will:

  • Deliver person centred support to stroke survivors and their families to enable them to rebuild their life after stroke.
  • Provide a range of innovative support solutions to enable their identified needs to be met.
  • Recruit, train and manage a team of volunteers, to support service users and the delivery of the service.

The post holder will have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working with people with a disability or long term health condition and their carers and exceptional interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Flexible approach to your role, this is essential.

The use of a car with business use cover and the ability to drive is essential to be able to fulfil the requirements of the role.

You may also have experience in roles such as Care Worker, Support Worker, Care Supervisor, Care Team Leader, Care Coordinator, Stroke Worker, Stroke Support.
