Are you looking to return to work following a career break?
Lloyds Banking Group support a 'Returners Programme' dedicated to talented professionals like you who have taken a break from your career and are now ready to return to work. Recognising that the transition can sometimes be a challenge, this programme is designed specifically with you in mind.
Over 16 weeks you’ll be supported to become part of our Commercial Banking business, with the aim of offering you a permanent position if the placement is successful. In the five years since launching our award-winning programme, we’ve hired over 70 talented candidates like yourself into technical and leadership roles across our business.
The role
We’ll be sure to match your unique skillset and experience to roles that suit you best. The programme begins in early October, 2019, and runs for 16 weeks. Assessment and selection events will be held during June and July.
What you’ll bring
While banking or professional services experience is a desirable we care more about the transferable skills you bring to our business. We’re looking for:
- Curious people who are keen to learn new skills
- Strong communication skills, as you’ll be interacting with people across our business
- Talented professionals who are returning from a break of at least two years
Ultimately, we’re looking for people who share our vision of helping Britain prosper.
Here’s why you should apply
Support is on hand
Returning to work isn’t easy. That’s where we step in. You’ll receive coaching to help you with your transition and you’ll have a buddy and mentor to guide you along the way. You’ll also benefit from peer-to-peer support, as you’ll be sharing this experience with a number of other returners.
We value your time too
Flexibility isn’t just a nice-to-have in today’s working environment; it’s a necessity. That’s why we are open to discussing agile, part-time and flexible working options to suit your busy schedule. For more information, click here.
Your development, our priority

We’re taking an evolutionary approach to career development, with technology taking care of ordinary tasks so you can be free to achieve the extraordinary.
This could be your opportunity to get back to work. So apply today to resume your career – and join us in helping Britain prosper.
Together we make it possible.
Company
We’re creating an organisation that attracts, retains and develops the best talent in the industry, and one that openly embraces diversity too. But more than that – we want to be a great place to work. We invest in our people, offering the best training and coaching, and by encouraging them to contribute to our leading corporate and social responsibility practices. We offer flexible working hours and days, under our Work Options scheme. This means that you can have a challenging and rewarding career, and still have an ideal work/life balance.
Flexible working is at the heart of our strategy. We’re re-imagining where, when, and how our people work, with new approaches designed to meet the ever-changing needs of customers and colleagues. These include increasing our use of remote-working tools and technology, as well as placing less reliance on a 9-to-5 mindset. For many of our office-based colleagues, we work in hybrid ways which involves spending at least two days per week or 40% of their time at one of our office sites.
