You will have the opportunity to combine typical tasks of investment banking with project finance advisory, principal investing and infrastructure development. As an Analyst or Associate in our team, you will be given great responsibility and client interaction opportunities, and will primarily be working on transactions that involve deploying our own balance sheet as an equity investor in preeminent European infrastructure transactions including in the green infrastructure/renewable sector.

You will work closely with our senior team on live high profile infrastructure transactions as an advisor and principal investor across Europe (recent examples include investments in the world’s largest dedicated new-build biomass plant – MGT Tees Renewable Energy Plant (http://www.macquarie.com/my/about/newsroom/2016/mgt-tees-renewable-energy-plant) and in the 336 MW Galloper offshore wind farm in the UK (http://www.macquarie.com/za/about/newsroom/2015/maccap-partners-with-rwe-gib-siemens-in-galloper-wind-farm).

You will assist on due diligence processes in relation to principal investments and manage the more junior members of the team, including providing guidance on financial analysis and reviewing financial models. You will design and lead production of presentations, information memoranda and other analysis for internal and external audiences

If you have proven analyst or associate experience as an execution banker gained within an investment bank, boutique or big 4, ideally in the infrastructure, renewable or power sector, we want to hear from you.

You will also have strong tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, experience in mentoring and supervising graduates and entry level analysts and strong quantitative skills including extensive experience with financial models and valuation techniques. You will also be able to independently manage and oversee a valuation including the incorporation of key due diligence findings into a model. Chartered accountants will be favorably regarded.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
