Willmott Dixon is currently looking to recruit a Communications Manager to work out of our Hitchin office. The candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of a communication approach that positively engages internal and external stakeholders, and raises the company profile.

Here at Willmott Dixon we deliver some amazing construction projects that truly delight and astonish our customers which always results in numerous stories to share with business. We need somebody who will be able to engage with our site teams to gather this information, produce some compelling content and then identify the best way in which to share these stories with the business.

You don't need to have experience in the construction sector but you will need to have the ability to engage with our people on a technical level and translate information into an engaging format that is easily understandable for everyone in the business to relate to and understand. In addition to being able to write engaging content, we also need somebody with experience of InDesign and Photoshop or other desktop publishing software. Any experience of photography or directing short videos would be a plus as would team leading / management experience.

Within the role you will be required to: -

* To develop and deliver a creative employee engagement and internal communications approach across the business, in line with Building on Better.

* To manage the external communications for the business in accordance with Group standards. Maintain and drive the company profile and increase presence in the relevant regional press locations.

* Manage the production of customer-facing literature alongside the New Business Team.

* Play an active role in developing and delivering cross Company/Group projects that drive improved engagement with, and within, our business.

* Ensure that once projects are agreed, they are delivered effectively within the business.

* Establish, integrate and maintain an approved social media platform across the business that meets Group standards. This will include use of LinkedIn, Twitter and any other appropriate platforms.

* Generate case studies for projects undertaken within business and across the number of sectors that we operate alongside the New Business Team.

* Develop and manage a knowledge bank of communication resources.

* Management of Award entries with our people, including consultants.

* Build, support and strengthen collaborative relationships with customers and key stakeholders.

* Introduce potential customers to the wider Willmott Dixon business, to support further business opportunities.

* Management of site events, including all associated communications with the Press.

* Engage with Project Launch Workshops etc.

Essential and Desirable Criteria
Technical or Operational Proven experience of:

* Working in a fast-paced dynamic, highly commercial communications role.

* Creative thinking.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Resources Proven experience of:

* Delivering value through the identification and implementation of appropriate communication strategies.

* Maximising impact with given resource.

* Making effective use of data capture systems.

Information Proven experience of:

* Advanced & wide ranging IT skills. People Proven experience of:

* Working in a matrix management structure.

* Building strong relationships through influencing skills.

* Working with a diverse range of people and organisations.

Qualifications and Memberships Academic:

* Degree level, or equivalent work experience.

Professional: Essential

* Five years' experience.

Desirable

* Professional membership.
