We’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our busy stroke support team in Bedford, as a Support Coordinator. 

Position: Stroke Association Support Coordinator

Location: Bedford (Office based)

Hours: 28 hours per week

Salary: circa £18,400 per annum

Contract: Permanent (Our services are contracted; we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2020)

The Support Coordinator role will be office based in our Bedford office with regular travel across the Borough.

The Role

Reporting to the Stroke Association Support Manager, the Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:

  • Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
  • Provide personalised information, advice and support. 
  • Support clients to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes 
  • Be accountable for volunteers, so experience of recruiting and managing volunteers would be an advantage.

About you

The post holder will have experience/background in:

  • A caring profession with experience of supporting people with disabilities. 
  • Setting up and running support groups.

You will have excellent IT skills and demonstrate a flexible approach to your role. The use of a car with business use cover and the ability to drive is essential to be able to fulfil the requirements of the role.
