Part-Time 1:1 Support Worker to member of teaching staff ***

We are working with an "Outstanding" Ofsted-rated mainstream secondary school in Hackney who are currently looking to recruit a part-time support worker to support a teacher.
This will be working under the instructions of the class teacher who is responsible for science lessons. You will be supporting a member of staff in the science department prepare and set up lessons and experiments under the staff's supervision and handing out equipment.
You will be expected to work on a 1:1 basis with a specific member of staff, assisting them with their work in and outside of class. Experience with working with and supporting people with physical disability will be advantageous.
The school is within walking distance of 2 central line tube stations and is also accessible by a number of popular bus routes.
Key skills and experience needed:
* Previous support work within a school or other transferable child-related experience
* A firm presence and strong behaviour management
* Previous one to one, small group work and/or whole class support
* Professional manner. Proactive, engaging and empathetic.
* Enthusiastic, friendly, patient and determined approach
* Experience or knowledge within special educational needs
