We are currently recruiting a number of Support Workers to support people with learning disabilities in the Chapel Allerton Area in Leeds.
This is an exciting opportunity supporting people to move into, set up and live in their own homes moving out from registered care.
We have various contracted posts available for both full time and part time hours.
The people we support all require different support but they all need support around personal care, medication administration and also support with their health issues. More than anything they want to live an independent and happy life being supported by you. They have their own hobbies, which vary.
Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work across a range of different days and shift patterns, including some sleep in shifts (Payment for sleep ins is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements). We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance - Got a request, something special going on? Your manager will certainly try to help you meet it.
One of the most amazing things about being a Support Worker is that anyone can do it! As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
It would be great if you could drive but not essential as some of the people we support have their own mobility cars
We are looking to interview W/C 10 June 2019 with a view to successful candidates commencing the Mencap induction programme on Monday 8 July 2019
