About Us
The Firefighters Charity is the organisation that supports the mental, physical and social needs of the members of the UK Fire and Rescue Service community. We recognise that no two people requesting our support do so for the same reason and tailor our service to achieve the best outcomes for each of our beneficiaries.
When the rescuers need it the most, we rescue them.
As part of our UK-wide range of support services, Marine Court, in the seaside town of Littlehampton offers accommodation and services to help our beneficiaries recover from a physically damaging or mentally traumatising experience.
Our Team
We are seeking a Housekeeper to join our dedicated team. Supported by the Head Housekeeper, our Housekeepers ensure that our beneficiaries enjoy a clean, safe and comfortable environment during their stay.
We recognise that the hard work of our estates and facilities teams compliment and support the work of our practitioners, ensuring the best outcomes for our beneficiaries.
The Role
As a Housekeeper, you will be tasked with ensuring our centre, including our bedrooms, gym, pool area and communal areas, is kept at the highest standard of cleanliness.
This is a part time role, working 18 hours per week.
The working pattern is Thursday 08:00 – 14:30, Friday 08:00 – 14:30 and Saturday 07:00 – 13:30.
Pay and Benefits
- Salary of £7,956 per annum (£8.50 per hour)
- Pension with 8% contribution (contributions are paid by the Charity on your behalf; you may also choose to make your own contribution if you wish to do so)
- 25 days’ holiday (pro rata) rising with service plus Bank Holidays
- Life assurance (3x basic salary)

About You
To be considered as a Housekeeper, you will need:
- Basic Health & Safety knowledge
- The ability to work as part of a team
Previous housekeeping experience in a high standard, customer focused environment would be beneficial to your application.
This is the ideal role for someone who has previously worked as General Assistant, Customer Service Assistant, Housekeeper, Cleaner, Housekeeping Assistant or Hospitality Assistant.
