Are you interested in working with Assembly Members from across the political spectrum to hold the Mayor to account and investigate issues of importance to Londoners?
The London Assembly is looking for an experienced manager to join its dynamic and highly-regarded scrutiny team, where you will be responsible for managing a team of 14 policy professionals investigating some of the key challenges facing London and examining the Mayor’s policies to address them.
The role will also include the development of a Research Unit to provide ongoing data monitoring, data visualisation and research support to the London Assembly; the role will involve devising and guiding the new pieces of research, as well as proactively liaising with politicians to make sure we are delivering on their requirements.
We are looking for someone comfortable working with research and data projects, with experience successfully carrying out a programme of policy projects, and who enjoys the challenge of leading and managing teams to deliver complex programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders inside and outside City Hall – including senior elected politicians. If you enjoy leading on new projects, working in a fast-paced, political environment, and have strong management skills, this job could be perfect for you.
These roles are ‘politically restricted’ under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.
In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan and a career average pension scheme.
If you have a question about the role or the recruitment process then please contact a member of the recruitment team via email on quoting reference GLA-ROM(S).
