JOB TITLE: Maintenance / Facilities Assistant  Location : Crawley, West Sussex  SALARY & BENEFITS: £11.20 per hour plus benefits including flexible working, full training, meals on duty, and contributory pension WORKING HOURS: Full Time 35 hours per week (Part Time hours will be considered) weekdays only, with occasional on call at weekends Do you want to feel part of a team? Our client is an award winning care home set in 5 acres of beautiful grounds at the western edge of Crawley who have built an excellent reputation. They now have a great opportunity for a new Maintenance / Facilities Assistant to join their existing friendly team.  As a Maintenance / Facilities Assistant you will be based on-site at the home and will assistant with general DIY and maintenance tasks within your remit, this could be assembling flat pack furniture, changing light bulbs and other general domestic DIY tasks. For any major works contractors would be called in and you would be asked to liaise with them. In addition, you will be sent on a training course and be a trained Fire Marshall for the home also requiring you to train other members of staff. You will also drive a company vehicle or mini bus so would require a full clean Driving Licence, or ideally a D1 Licence.  Candidates for the role will ideally have a background in DIY or experience in a similar role as a Maintenance / Facilities Assistant, Caretaker, or Handyperson and will have good communication skills. All candidates will need to have the right to work in the UK and will need to have adequate means to commute to Crawley, West Sussex.  Key experience essential for the role of Maintenance / Facilitates Assistant:-  Will ideally have a background in DIY or experience in a similar role Valid UK Driving Licence (preferably D1 licence or grandfathers rights to drive a Mini Bus) Must be happy to train others (once received training) in Fire procedure  Will need to live within commutable distance to Crawley, West Sussex Does this sound like you?
