Position: Group Coordinator
Location: Hammersmith and Fulham
Contract type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 21 per week
Salary: £13,374 actual per annum

About the role:

Leading the fight against dementia takes many forms at Alzheimer’s Society. In addition to funding research and raising public awareness, for example, we run some of the most effective local support services in the country. We offer regular support services in a safe and secure environment.

As the Group Coordinator you will coordinate, organize and facilitate the engaging and safe running of group services aimed to inform, educate, and support those affected by dementia. The type of service delivered in a group setting is varied and may include Dementia Café, Activity Groups and Singing for the Brain.

About you:

You will possess an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent as well as having good organisation and facilitation skills combined with excellent communication and listening skills. An understanding of the value of group activities to people living with dementia along with experience in a care or support environment will be essential. We are looking for an individual who has experience in coordinating, organising and facilitating group work, particularly focused on peer support and activity groups for people affected by dementia. It is desirable that you have experience of coordinating volunteers, and liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies.
