JOB TITLE: Police Solicitor

PQE REQUIRED: 3 years +

LOCATION: West Midlands - with some travel across the West Midlands

SALARY: Excellent hourly rate

THE ROLE:

This challenging contract role will see the appointed Solicitor work closely with members of staff across the organisation in relation to operational matters, internal disciplinary hearings and provide training. You will also represent the organisation in relation to civil matters at Magistrates' Courts, County Courts, Higher Courts, inquests and tribunals. This is a part time role for 3 days per week. The contract is for 3-6 months which may be subject to extension depending on the needs of the team.

THE CANDIDATE:

The role will best suit a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a condition-free practising certificate. Prior knowledge of criminal law, civil law and litigation as well as an understanding of employment law and human rights legislation will be a distinct advantage. In addition to your daily tasks you will advise on judicial review/public law matters so a good grounding in this area is also desired. Strong advocacy skills is essential.

PACKAGE:

The role is offered with a generous hourly rate and the possibility of extension.
