The Chamber and Committees Team supports the business of the House and its Committees. The Committee Office, which sits within the Chamber and Committees Team provides general and secretariat services to select committees.
As an Assistant Inquiry Manager (Apprentice) working in an inclusive, fast-paced organisation at the heart of British democracy, you will be a part of a team that provides impartial policy and research to Committees of Members of Parliament holiday the Government to account.
The Assistant Inquiry Manager (Apprentice) will prepare papers for the Committee and liaise with witnesses and stakeholders. The Assistant Inquiry Manager will be trained and supported to provide policy support to the Committee, including drafting briefing material for inquiries and orally briefing the Committee during private meetings. The Assistant Inquiry Manager is also likely to contribute to drafting material for Committee reports.
The training you will be getting
A total of 20% of time in the role will be spent in off the job training, including training provided by the apprenticeship training provider, and internal House training. This will not necessarily look like 1 day per week spent in training but will total 20 per cent across the time in role.
Your tutors will work with you remotely and you will have monthly group training with apprentices from a range of organisations.
