Job Details
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our clients Volunteering and Community team in Scotland.
Position: Volunteering and Community Officer
Location: Edinburgh and Central Region (office or home based – to be agreed)
Hours: 28 hours per week
Salary: circa £18,400 per annum
Contract: Permanent

The Role
Reporting to the Volunteering & Community Manager for Scotland, the Volunteering and Community Officer will
- Lead a group of volunteers and our peer support activity for people affected by stroke within the Edinburgh and Central health board area.
- Coordinate the monitoring and evaluation of the Hand in Hand volunteer-led, peer support pilots and lead volunteers within the pilots.
About you
The Volunteering and Community Officer will have:
- Strong networking and relationship management skills to enable you to proactively build connections and opportunities across your area.
- A track record of working with volunteers and an understanding of the impact of stroke in someone’s life.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, this is essential.
There is also a requirement to work flexibly and travel to fulfil the role and there is a possible homeworking option, the homeworking agreement can be requested. The use of a car with business use cover and the ability to drive is essential to be able to fulfil the requirements of the role. The role is subject to standard PVG check.
