A temporary On going opportunity for a Maritime Assistant has arisen with the local authorities in Truto.

We are looking for a part time Maritime Assistant to assist with the day to day operations at Newquay Harbour.

The duties include reporting necessary repairs, checking of safety equipment and maintaining the general cleanliness of the harbour. To act as a focal point for members of the public and boat operators and to be able to deal with their enquiries. To assist with the running of all aspects of the harbour including moorings, quay berths, commercial and recreational craft. Some general maintenance will be required.

Skills and Experience:

* Prior knowledge and understanding of the maritime industry

* Ability to work alone

* Customer service experience

* General maintenance knowledge

The post holder will be expected to work a rota system to assist the Newquay Harbour Master. This will include every other weekend and some bank holidays. The post is for 26 hours per week over 4 shifts. A uniform and PPE will be supplied.
