If you answer yes, then we're looking for you to join us at Newhaven Ward.

The post will be based at Newhaven Community Ward, which is on the site of the old Newhaven Downs Hospital. The unit is for patients who no longer require acute hospital care but need further skilled nursing and therapeutic support such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy before leaving NHS inpatient care altogether. A team of nurses, therapists, doctors and support staff will care for 23 patients in the newly refurbished ward, supporting them to recover before they move on.

Applicants for this role will have a keen interest in caring for complex discharge patients, combined with an ability to provide care in a compassionate and dignified manner. The successful applicant will be numerate and literate, with excellent communication skills. The post holder needs to work well within a team and be able to work with a wide variety of staff to maintain standards in line with Trust and NMC guidelines.

You will be supported by the senior nursing team and professional development team.You will be given a local ward induction, a trust induction and access to a robust preceptorship programme aimed at supporting you to develop in the first few months of starting. There is also ongoing support through regular appraisals, competency based learning, and relevant study days. Continuing education and professional development are strongly encouraged and opportunities will be made available for the successful applicant as wework closely with our Higher Education partners to support nurses reach their full potential.The department actively engages a variety of Post-Registration courses.

We are looking for someone who can work 37.5 hours a week, and the role includes working days , nights and weekends. Part Time will be considered.
